Brickwork & Garden Walls
Brick and block walls, garden walls and retaining walls.
Brick and block walls, garden walls and retaining walls.
Brick and block work that's plumb, level and built to the right spec — with proper foundations, the right mortar mix and clean pointing. From low garden walls to engineered retaining structures, we work to the same standard throughout.

Foundations first
Every wall is only as good as its footing. We dig to depth, pour the right concrete spec, and let it cure before laying a single brick.

Retaining walls
Retaining structures need drainage behind them, weep holes, and reinforcement appropriate to the load. We design and build with these in mind — not as an afterthought.

Finish
Bricks matched to the property where possible, mortar mix to suit, and pointing finished cleanly. Coping or capping detailed to throw water off the top.

Tiered retaining wall, Chalfont
- The brief
- A steep, slipping bank between a raised lawn and the patio below — old sleepers rotting and pushing forward.
- What we did
- Excavated back, poured a strip footing to depth, built two stepped retaining walls in matching brick with weep holes and a 150mm clean stone drainage layer behind, capped with engineering brick.
- The result
- A clean, level lawn above and a usable terrace below — drained, retained and visually tied to the house.

FAQs
Do garden walls need foundations?+
Yes — any wall over a few courses needs a properly poured concrete footing. The taller the wall, the deeper and wider the footing.
What about retaining walls?+
Anything retaining more than about 600mm of ground needs engineered design — reinforcement, drainage and the right bond pattern. We'll spec it properly.
Can you match existing brickwork?+
In most cases yes — we source closest-match bricks and match the mortar colour and pointing style.
