A Hertfordshire family wanted a dedicated working-from-home garden room with a finished outdoor lounge area around it.
Client brief
A level, properly built base for a 4×3m garden room, plus a usable surrounding patio with low-maintenance planting.
The problem
A sloping, uneven plot with poor surface drainage and no clear levels to work from.
The plan
Excavate, install drainage, pour a reinforced concrete base, then build out the patio surround in porcelain with planted edges.
Work completed
Groundworks, drainage, concrete base, porcelain patio, planting and exterior lighting.
Materials used
MOT Type 1, reinforced concrete, porcelain paving, mortar bed, drainage aggregate, ornamental planting.
Final result
A solid, level foundation with a beautifully finished outdoor lounge area, ready for daily use.
