Decking

Hardwood and composite decking with integrated detailing.

Overview

Hardwood and composite decking with integrated detailing.

Decking sits over a structure — and that structure decides everything. We build joisted frames on properly supported bearers, with ventilation, drainage and the right fixings, so the deck stays solid, level and quiet to walk on for years.

Composite vs timber
01

Composite vs timber

Composite stays looking the same for years and needs almost no maintenance, but costs more upfront. Hardwood looks beautiful and ages with character — but needs oiling. Softwood is budget-friendly but has the shortest life. We'll walk you through it.

Frame & ventilation

Frame & ventilation

We build the sub-frame on properly supported bearers with airflow underneath so the timber dries between rainfalls — that's what makes a deck last.

Details that matter

Details that matter

Integrated steps, recessed lighting, hidden fixings on composite, neat fascia and edge trims. Small details make the difference between a deck and a great deck.

Common questions

FAQs

How long does composite last?+

Quality composite carries 20–25 year warranties and typically outlasts that with normal use.

Will it be slippery?+

Modern composite has a textured finish that performs well wet. For timber we recommend an annual brush-down and re-oil.

Do I need building regs?+

Generally no for a low deck. Raised decks over 30cm or near boundaries can need extra consideration — we'll advise.
